How tr.ee allows phishers to phish with impunity
Many of you have probably heard of the service "Linktree" , but what you may not know is, the same company also offers a link shortneing service.
Allow me to introduce you to "tr.ee".
tr.ee is a URL shortening service becoming extremely popular amongst phishers, for a few key reasons.
There's no direct way to report abuse URL's as Linktree reports do NOT support tr.ee link
The tr.ee links themselves are editable in Realtime, allowing you to edit your backend redirected URL in real time, without changing your shortened link.
Example: Let's say our link is tr.ee/google , I could set my backend redirect link to google.com , and a few seconds later change my backend to youtube.com
This allows me to promote the same tr.ee link without the need to change it. This is extremely beneficial to phishers, as the main URL wont go down.Linktree chat support is sluggish, slow and don't care about reports made through the livechat system.
